1、At a Glance
- Servings: 6
- Number of eggs: 6–12
- Preheat time: About 7 minutes
- Cook time: 12–16 minutes, depending on yolk doneness
- Cooling time: 5-minute ice water bath
2、Ingredients
- 6–12 eggs, straight from the refrigerator
3、Instructions
Preheat the air fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 250°F (about 121°C).

Add the eggs
Take the eggs straight from the refrigerator and place them directly in the air fryer basket. Leave a little space between the eggs so the hot air can circulate freely.
Set the time by doneness
| Doneness | Cook Time | Yolk Texture |
|---|---|---|
| Jammy | 12 minutes | Soft yolk with a runny center |
| Medium | 14 minutes | Mostly set but creamy yolk |
| Hard-boiled | 16 minutes | Fully set yolk |
Cool immediately
When the cooking time is up, remove the eggs from the basket and plunge them straight into ice water for 5 minutes. The ice bath rapidly brings the temperature down and stops the eggs from cooking further.
Peel and enjoy
Gently tap each egg on the counter or a cutting board, roll it a few times to create more cracks in the shell, then peel and enjoy.

4、Important Notes
- Every air fryer is different. Temperature and airflow vary by brand, model, and wattage, so the actual cooking time may need adjusting.
- Test first. The first time you make these, start with just 1–2 eggs to figure out the timing that works for your machine.
- If your air fryer's lowest setting is 300°F (about 149°C), try 10–12 minutes first, then calibrate based on your machine and the eggs.
- No basket? No problem. If your air fryer doesn't have a basket, you can use a rack or wire tray — as long as air can circulate around the eggs.
- About brown spots: Small brown, bumpy spots on the shell are usually caused by pressure changes from the rapid circulation of hot air. The peeled egg inside is completely unaffected.

6、Storage & Freezing
Unpeeled Eggs
Store in the refrigerator in a container — sealed or unsealed both work. Best eaten within 1 week.
Peeled Eggs
There are two ways to store peeled eggs:
- Keep them submerged in cold water, making sure the water fully covers the eggs, and change the water daily; or
- Place them in a sealed container without water, covering the eggs with a damp paper towel.
Peeeled eggs are also best eaten within 1 week.
Freezing
Freezing whole eggs is not recommended — the whites can turn tough and rubbery, and may even weep or discolor.
If you do want to freeze, freeze the cooked yolks only, in a freezer-safe sealed container or a heavy-duty freezer bag, for up to 3 months.
